How to Identify Wireless Card Device

I feel it is important to write article about this matter since there are lots of reason for this and i think it is better to explain it in details. Nowadays, many laptop manufacture provide more than 1 wireless driver and ask you to choose base on your specification while there are no information given.

1. Simple way to Identify your wireless Card Device.

(Driver already installed, if you still didnt install the driver look content no 2.)

1. Press windows + R button,  a windows "RUN" utility will open. (all windows OS)
2. To open device manager Type DEVMGMT.MSC and press enter or OK.

3. Device manager will open, look for Network Adapter and expand it.

Note 1: You can see your wireless name appear (red box in the picture).
Note 2: If it marked with yellow means you need to install the driver for it.

4. Right click on it and select properties, you will get more details about your wireless device.

2. Identify your wireless using hardware ID. (Driver not yet installed)

This 1 is simple, but if no drivers installed, you wont see the wireless name but it will list it as "network adapter", network device or else with yellow mark on it.

1. Right click on the network adapter marked with yellow.
2. Select properties - Details and on the drop down menu select hardware ID.

3. Copy the hardware ID and Google it, you will have more than one line, choose any line to search and you will see the result displaying the exact name for your wireless device. Example i use the 3rd line from picture above

4. Now, there are other result that discuss the same hardware ID in details and give the driver version to use for your device.

5. If your manufacture provide 3 different wireless drivers example Intel, atheros and broadcom, you can use this method to determine which to download and install.

Mengenal Komponen VGA Video Graphics Adapter

Pada hari ini akan saya postingkan tentang mengenal komponen komputer yaitu kartu grafis atau dikenal dengan VGA. Pengertian VGA, singkatan dari Video Graphics Adapter, adalah standar tampilan komputer analog yang dipasarkan pertama kali oleh IBM pada tahun 1987. Fungsi VGA Card adalah mengubah sinyal digital dari komputer menjadi tampilan grafik di layar monitor. Kartu VGA (Video Graphic Adapter) berguna untuk menerjemahkan output (keluaran) komputer ke monitor. Untuk menggambar / design graphic ataupun untuk bermain game.VGA Card sering juga disebut Card display, kartu VGA atau kartu grafis. Tempat melekatnya kartu grafis disebut slot expansi. Chipset/prosesor pada kartu VGA, banyak sekali macamnya karena tiap-tiap pabrik kartu VGA memiliki Chipset andalannya. Ada banyak produsen Chipset kartu VGA seperti NVidia, 3DFX, S3, ATi, Matrox, SiS, Cirrus Logic, Number Nine (#9), Trident, Tseng, 3D Labs, STB, OTi, dan sebagainya.

Menurut integrasinya dengan motherboard, VGA dibagi menjadi dua jenis, yaitu VGA OnBoard ( VGA terintegrasi ) dan VGA Card ( VGA Add-On ).

VGA OnBoard sudah terintegrasi atau menyatu dgn motherboardnya, VGA jenis ini sedikit kemungkinan terjadi masalah ketidak sesuaian antara motherboard dan VGA.
harga motherboard tanpa VGA dengan VGA OnBoard hampir sama,untuk beberapa merk harga VGA OnBoard lebih murah,VGA jenis ini bisa menjadi solusi untuk budget yang terbatas.VGA ini memiliki kemampuan yang terbatas,dengan tampilan yang standart.
Sebuah kartu grafis, biasa disebut adapter grafis, kartu video atau grafis akselerator, adalah komponen komputer yang mengubah data digital ke dalam bentuk grafis yang dapat ditampilkan pada monitor.

VGA kartu grafis 
Kartu grafis yang baru sekarang memiliki prosesor yang dibangun untuk menangani grafis 3D dengan tampilan yang kompleks.

Komponen utama Sebuah kartu video adalah:

1. Graphical Processing Unit (GPU), jantung dari sebuah kartu grafis, yang bertugas untuk memproses gambar berdasarkan pengkodean yang digunakan. GPU adalah prosesor khusus dengan kemampuan pengolahan gambar yang telah berkembang, terutama untuk grafis 3D. Karena suhu yang tinggi dari prosesor grafis yang bisa mencapai puncak, maka dipasang radiator dan kipas sering di atasnya.

2. Memori video untuk menyimpan gambar yang diproses oleh GPU sebelum ditampilkan ke monitor. Semakin besar memori video, semakin baik kartu grafis dapat menangani tekstur ketika menampilkan gambar 3D. Frame buffer Istilah yang umum digunakan untuk merujuk ke bagian dari memori video yang menyimpan gambar sebelum mereka akan ditampilkan pada layar. Kartu grafis sangat bergantung pada jenis kartu memori yang digunakan, dan waktu respon mereka sangat penting untuk menampilkan gambar dengan cepat, seperti jumlah memori, yang mempengaruhi jumlah dan resolusi gambar yang dapat disimpan dalam frame buffer.

3. RAMDAC (random access memory digital-analog converter) digunakan untuk mengkonversi gambar digital yang disimpan dalam frame buffer sebagai sinyal analog untuk mengirim ke monitor. Frekuensi RAMDAC yang menentukan refresh rate (jumlah gambar per detik, dinyatakan dalam Hertz – Hz) yang dimiliki sebuah kartu grafis.

4. Video BIOS berisi pengaturan kartu grafis, dalam mode grafis khusus yang dindukung adaptor.

5. Antarmuka: Ini adalah jenis bus yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan kartu grafis ke motherboard. Bus AGP yang dirancang khusus untuk menangani data flow tinggi, yang diperlukan ketika menampilkan video atau urutan 3D. Bus PCI Express melakukan kerja yang lebih baik daripada bus AGP yang lama.

6. Koneksi:

Konektor VGA standar : Kebanyakan kartu grafis yang dibangun dengan 15-pin VGA (Mini Sub-D, dengan 3 baris dari 5 pin masing-masing), biasanya berwarna biru, yang terutama digunakan untuk menghubungkan adaptor ke monitor CRT. Jenis antarmuka ini digunakan untuk mengirim 3 sinyal analog ke layar, sesuai dengan komponen merah, biru, dan hijau lihat gambar diatas.
Konektor DVI (Digital Video Interface), dijumpai di beberapa kartu grafis, digunakan untuk mengirim data digital ke monitor yang memiliki konektor input DVI. Ini merupakan bypasses yang mengkonversi data digital menjadi analog dan kemudian kembali lagi menjadi digital.
Konektor S-Video : Kartu grafis semakin banyak memiliki soket S-Video, sehingga output komputer dapat ditampilkan pada layar televisi. Inilah mengapa sering disebut “TV-out” plug.

3D Accelerator Cards
Bidang 3D jauh lebih baru, dan menjadi lebih penting. Beberapa PC sekarang dapat melakukannya lebih cepat dari beberapa komputer tertentu.

Komputasi gamar 3D adalah proses yang dibagi menjadi empat langkah yaitu :

1. script: meletakkan elemen
2. geometri: membuat objek sederhana
3. setup: memotong objek menjadi segitiga 2D
4. render: menerapkan tekstur untuk segitiga.

Semakin baik kartu 3D accelerator dapat menghitung gerakan-gerakan dengan sendirinya sdmakin cepat gambar dapat ditampilkan. Chip yang pertama dapat bekerja dengan optimal dan membiarkan prosesor mengurus sisanya. Sejak saat itu, kartu grafis telah memasukkan “mesin setup”, yang menangani keduanya dari dua langkah terakhir.

Sebagai contoh, sebuah prosessor 266 Mhz Pentium II yang menghitung tiga langkah pertama dapat memproses 350.000 poligon per detik,  saat itu hanya menghitung dua, dapat mencapai 750.000 poligon per detik. Hal ini menunjukkan berapa banyak beban kartu ini yang terbuang dari prosesor.

Jenis bus juga merupakan faktor penting. Sementara bus AGP tidak baik untuk gambar 2D,  kartu yang menggunakan bus yang bukan bus PCI berkinerja tinggi. Hal ini disebabkan fakta bahwa bus AGP langsung terkait dengan RAM, yang memberikan bandwidth yang jauh lebih tinggi daripada bus PCI.

Semakin tinggi produk-produk teknologi sekarang memerlukan kualitas dan manufaktur yang sama seperti yang dilakukan oleh prosesor, serta kemampuan antara 0,25 pM dan 0,35 pM lebarnya.

Cara memperbaiki USB yang Error

Kali ini kita akan membahas tentang USB yang bermasalah di komputer yang ber-os windows 7, banyak pengguna yang mengalami masalah pada USB mereka, ketika kita menghubungkan perangkat USB baik itu flashdisk ataupun external harddisk ke laptop windows 7, sistem akan muncul pesan seperti ini: “One of the USB device attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it”.

Anda akan menemukan kode kesalahan 43 di device manager, “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)”.

Ini adalah kode kesalahan yang sangat umum, dan mungkin anda sedikit frustrasi jika menemui masalah seperti ini, tapi jangan kuatir kami akan memberikan tips langkah-langkah untuk mengatasi masalah ini.

Cobalah langkah-langkah berikut:
 

1. Pastikan anda telah meng-update BIOS laptop anda dengan versi terbaru.

2. Reinstall USB controllers, caranya:

Pertama, silahkan copot semua perangkat USB dan kemudian lakukan langkah-langkah berikut:

1. Klik tombol “Start” ketik “devmgmt.msc” ( Tanpa tanda kutip ), didalam kotak “Search” lalu tekan tombol “Enter”, klik “Continue” jika diperlukan.

2. Didalam Device manager, klik dua kali untuk memperluas “Universal Serial Bus controllers”, klik kanan di Host Controllernya, klik “uninstall” dan klik “Ok”

3.  Ulangi langkah diatas (ke-2) untuk uninstall semua item dibawah “Universal Serial Bus controllers”.
4. Kemudian, restart komputer Anda dan Windows 7 akan menginstal ulang semua kontroler USB secara otomatis.

Jika, seandainya langkah2 diatas tidak berhasil mengatasi masalah yang timbul, cobalah langkah-langkah berikut:

1. Matikan laptop anda, cabutlah adaptornya.
2. Cabut baterai laptop, kemudian biarkan laptop anda selama beberapa menit.
3. Kemudian hidupkan kembali laptop anda.

How to Stop Windows Keep Automatically Installing Drivers

Whenever you plug in a new device, or windows found a new hardware, Windows will detect and automatically install available in-box compatible drivers. It will also search the drivers on the web or via Windows Automatic Updates. The problem with this setting is whenever you uninstall a device from device manager, it will keep re-install it after reboot or after you select "scan for hardware changes". A very good reason to uninstall the current driver from device manager permanently is varies such as:

1. Windows install the default driver which does not work. When we uninstall it to install different drivers, it will re-install the previous drivers before we able to install the other driver.

2. The default driver version which windows keep installing is newer then the version we want to use, so windows will prompt "the current driver version is newer than this package".

1 : OPEN GROUP POLICY EDITOR
Click start and on the search box type gpedit.msc and press enter. This will open Group Policy Editor.

Click yes if prompted

2: Go through (Expand by clicking the arrow button) : Computer Configuration -System - device Installation and Click device installation Restriction. The on the right pane double click on " Prevent Installation of devices not described by other policy setting".

3. Select enable, you can always change this setting by clicking disable (by default this option is not configured).

4. Reboot to apply this change. Now your computer will not automatically install the drivers you already uninstalled.
